SUMMARY:2015-16 Early Career Workshop for  Theological School Faculty
DESCRIPTION:2015-16 Early Career Teaching Workshop for Theological School Faculty\n\n\nDescription\nThis workshop will gather 14 faculty members in their first years of teaching for a week in two successive summers and a weekend winter retreat in a warm location. The purpose of the workshop is to create a community of committed and skilled teachers who will explore the following: \n\n\n	The crafts and practices of teaching\n	A sense of vocational agency in navigating personal commitments\, institutional mission\, and student learning needs\n	Teaching in contexts marked by difference\n	The importance of collegiality in sustaining a life of teaching and scholarship\n	What’s theological about theological education\n	Engaging wider communities in teaching and learning\n\n\nTo this end\, the workshop balances plenary sessions with small group discussions and workshop sessions\, structured and unstructured social time\, and time for relaxation\, exercise\, meditation\, restoration\, and lots of good food and drink. \n\n\nParticipants\nFront Row (left to right): Michal Beth Dinkler (Yale Divinity School)\, Jared Alcántara (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School)\, William Yoo (Columbia Theological Seminary)\, Jin Young Choi (Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School)\, Peter T.
