Andrew Wilson is an associate professor of religious studies at Mount Allison University in the Canadian Maritimes. His guiding principle of “Together we’re smarter!” has as much influence on his approach to teaching religion as it does his broader vision of integrated learning communities. As a teacher he brings together normally separate categories such as popular culture and religious doctrine in order to break down artificial boundaries, shift perspectives, and create new and productive connections. In the community he collaborates with a range of stake-holders to bring community-engagement to the forefront of pedagogical development. He is a recent recipient of the 3M National Teaching Fellowship, Canada’s highest recognition of teaching excellence.
