  1. Your comments were so helpful in re-imagining how to creatively use the online classroom “space.” It is a marvelous way to move the students beyond feeling confined by the digital realm. As my students log on for class, I notice the unique contexts in which they are situated and sometimes we talk about it but not intentionally, as you have done. Part of me also did not want to seem to pry or invade their space so I sometimes did not note things as it relates to their economics, personal relationships and other points. But your description here is so very helpful as a way to bring in all of who they are into the class. Even when a student chooses one of the creative backgrounds can provide some interesting discussion. So thank you for posting this insight. I appreciated it so very much.
