About Phil Keisman

Phil Keisman is a doctoral candidate in the History department of the City University of New York's Graduate Center, where his research explores the cultivation of Hebrew language reading communities in 19th century Central Europe through newspapers and journals. In addition to an MA and M Phil. in Modern European History, he holds an MA in Jewish Education from Hebrew College and spent many years teaching children before his work at Lehman College in the Bronx.
